This bright and colourful painting is called Joys of Nature. And as most of you know, for me nature is a never-ending source of inspiration!
Joys of Nature is a playful exploration of colour and movement, focusing on patterns of organic forms. Here, I focus on the spiral pattern of snail shells, which is an organic element formed through a meticulous process. But, as it often is with my paintings, there is hidden symbolism to this artwork too.
When you think of it, the spiral pattern found on snail shells is a remarkable sight to behold. It is constructed to carry the weight of the snail's home (a notion that is perhaps both a blessing and a curse) in perfect balance, a mesmerising design created by nature.
The spiral itself represents growth, progress, and journey, reflecting the snail's slow and steady movements as it navigates its surroundings. The snail shell's spiral pattern serves as a reminder that everything in life travels in a cyclical pattern of change and continuity, reminding us that for every ending, there is a new beginning.
