During my Artist Residency at the House of Annetta (2022), I explored the space by peeling back the layers of conversations hidden in the walls of the house. I created a selection of photographic mixed media series I have now released as Open Edition Prints in small size (A4) and which will be included in my upcoming artist book.
Annetta Pedretti was a cybernetic linguist who sadly died in 2018, leaving her house to the Community. Cybernetics, the study of self-regulating systems, was an integral part of Annetta’s work. She explored it in her art, her beekeeping, publishing, political activism, and everyday conversations.
She moved to the house that is now known as The House of Annetta in 1980, inhabiting it as a space for her experimental way of learning and organising community resistance.
